Drawing New Members from the Competition
St Ives Country Club, a private, full-service club in Johns Creek, Georgia, competes with other top-notch clubs within the Atlanta area. Keeping existing members and bringing in new members is key to its livelihood.
So in the interest of maintaining their Tom Fazio-designed course while reducing costs in order to fund a major renovation, the club contracted BrightView.
The first step? Reversing what had been inconsistent maintenance of the course. To do so, BrightView developed customized agronomic, labor and operating plans. At the same time, BrightView worked with St Ives to plan and execute a strategic renovation of course infrastructure with the goal of modernizing and upgrading the course.
Through comprehensive planning and sophisticated execution, the course — and course play — reached the level of quality that kept and drew members. At the same time, expenses for golf course maintenance decreased nearly 25 percent from 2008 levels.
With the savings, St Ives was able to renovate its clubhouse and expand its aquatic center. The consensus? It’s an all-around win for BrightView, St Ives and its growing list of happy members.
