Play and Greens Fees Go Up, Cost Goes Down
Lake Worth Golf Course
Lake Worth, FL
Due to our dramatically improved course conditions, we've been able to get $3 more per round than we have in the past — and that's a big deal in this competitive marketplace.Dustin McCabe - Facilities Director and Golf Pro, City of Lake Worth
Increased Playability & Golf Course Profits
The grounds — and revenues — at the Lake Worth, Florida, 18-hole municipal golf course had been declining for ten years when the City decided to bring BrightView on board.
Their task? To turn around course conditions and, at the same time, rein in costs.
Their solution? A science-based agronomic plan aimed at improving overall turf conditions and playability. In addition, BrightView worked with the City to retain a veteran superintendent, and hired and trained the maintenance staff in everything from technical and safety skills to golf course presentation and decorum.
It paid off. Play and memberships increased enabling Lake Worth to raise greens fees by $3 a round. At the same time, smarter use of resources saved the city more than $180,000 over historical annual maintenance.
The community is once again proud of “Lake Worth Muni,” and BrightView is hard at work on a five-year equipment replacement and capital improvement plan with the City’s full backing.
