Looking back at 2017, we are very thankful. Our clients, long-standing and new, provided opportunities to serve them and their golf courses, and our teams served up consistent professionalism and great work. When our clients are successful, we know we’ve done our job. Here is a look back on some examples of successful partnerships with our clients in 2017.

Aiding in the Aftermath of Hurricane Irma

Hurricane Irma struck the Florida Keys last year, leaving a disaster in its wake and at many golf courses in the area. We partnered with our clients, brought in resources from surrounding areas, and helped our clients’ courses and the community recover in record time. At the Biltmore, we removed 150 trees (approximately 80 tons). At Grand Harbor, we removed 80 trees (approximately 40 tons) and sodded over 40,000 square feet of turf. At the Atlantic Beach Country Club, we were able to restore the course to tournament playing conditions in 10 days in order to help prepare the club for its Web.com tournament.

Preserving Golf’s Natural Heritage

Two golf courses we maintain for the City of Anaheim, Anaheim Hills Golf Course and Dad Miller Golf Course, became Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuaries last year. Earning the certifications required a commitment from the maintenance team and the clubs, over the course of 3 years. As part of meeting the requirements, we converted nearly 30 acres of turf to native grassland or drought-tolerant plants, and created a no spray zone around a groundwater stream that runs through the course. The City of Anaheim was quite proud of this accomplishment for their courses and community.

Hosting the Web.com Tour Championships

Atlantic Beach Country Club in Atlantic Beach, FL was again honored to host the 2017 Web.com Tour Championships where the top-50 players receive the 2018 PGA Tour Cards. The club and its members were happy to have these top Tour players compete on their golf course and BrightView was proud to help deliver tournament conditions. The club received excellent reviews from the players and it was an incredible week of tournament golf.

New Clients. Acclaimed Course.

We were proud to add clients who are entrusting their award-winning courses to our maintenance teams in 2017. BrightView Golf Maintenance entered into a long-term maintenance partnership with the award-winning private golf club, The Golf Club at Cuscowilla. Located in Eatonton, GA, Cuscowilla is one of 10 Coore/Crenshaw designs listed among the top-100 Modern Courses in the US by Golfweek.

In addition, both BrightView Golf Maintenance and BrightView Landscape Services were chosen to maintain the private community, Grand Harbor, their clubhouse and two renowned golf courses in Vero Beach, FL. The community was named “Best Florida Community of the Year” by Real Estate Scorecard last year.

2018 is already off to great start! BrightView Golf Maintenance is honored to be recognized as one of the “Top-100 Businesses in Golf” by the National Golf Foundation, and we have added some great new customers.

The future is looking bright for many of our customers too. They are seeing consistent growth in their business and are reinvesting in their courses. They have a positive outlook for the future and are working hard to continue their growth. We are grateful to be part of their success.

We look forward to continuing to provide innovative and smart ways to serve our customers and to enable their courses to benefit from improved and consistent quality conditions, and operational excellence. We will continue working hard so our customers have many more good years!
